Maritime & Admiralty
Bouhan Falligant’s attorneys offer a broad spectrum of services in the admiralty and maritime field. The firm’s attorneys participate actively in the Maritime Bar, both on a national and international level, and are active in the Maritime Law Association and in the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute. As a result of our involvement, we are proficient in handling all types of maritime legal issues.
Our clients include ship repair facilities, stevedores, terminals, ship chandlers, vessel owners, charterers, dredging companies, commercial salvors, towing companies, yacht owners, container repair facilities, protection and indemnity clubs, and hull and liability insurers. We routinely respond and investigate matters involving collision and personal injury defense and other emergent matters that occur in the Port of Savannah.
On a regular basis, our experienced lawyers have represented towing companies, dredging companies, terminals, stevedores, vessel owners, charterers and their insurers in defense of personal injury/wrongful death claims and in defense of Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation claims. We have represented terminals in allision cases and in environmental matters. We have also represented insurers in policy coverage matters.
In addition to handling litigation for our maritime clients, we also represent them in corporate, employment, and immigration matters. Although our maritime practice is centered in Savannah and in Brunswick, our attorneys practice regularly in Atlanta and in other federal courts throughout Georgia. Through associated counsel, we have also handled maritime matters in Charleston, S.C., Jacksonville, Fla., and in the Gulf region.
