Ed Robb has been a member with Bouhan Falligant since 1970. His practice concentrates in the areas of admiralty, general casualty, and transportation law. He regularly represents cargo insurers in a variety of recovery actions filed in Savannah, Atlanta and in other courts in the Southeast. He also regularly represents marine terminals, stevedores and their insurers in a variety of litigated matters, including personal injury, property damage and toxic tort litigation. He defends towing and dredging companies in Jones Act cases and in other litigation, involving inland transportation.
Robb is a 1963 graduate of Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth, he was a member of the Dragon Senior Society, the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity, and the Varsity Lacrosse Team. He received his J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School in 1970 and was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review. While on the Law Review, he was the published author of the note, Dockside Injuries Under the Longshoremen’s & Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act, 3 Georgia Law Review 622 (1969).
Robb served as an officer in the United States Navy from 1963-1973. He served on a LST in the Pacific Fleet in preparation for amphibious operations in Vietnam. Subsequently, he served on destroyers in the Atlantic fleet while on active duty and while in the active Reserves. He attained the rank of lieutenant commander.
He is a member of the Navy League of the United States, and is the judge advocate for the Savannah Council. He is a member of the Military Order of World Wars and serves as the adjutant for the Savannah Chapter. Robb coached youth soccer for 16 years and was a board member of the Coastal Georgia Soccer Association.
Robb is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States (MLA) and serves on the MLA Nominating Committee. He is active in the MLA Stevedores, Marine Terminals, and Vessel Services Committees. He is also a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and has presented papers and has lectured at various Admiralty Seminars. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America (Admiralty) and by Georgia Super Lawyers (Admiralty/Transportation).
Having completed the Henning Mediation and Arbitration Services, Inc. Mediation course, Robb has served as a mediator in a number of maritime cases.
